Underpaid healthcare workers are letterboxing voters in Footscay ahead of a planned mass rally at the new Footscray Hospital this week.
About 10,000 workers from across Victoria will walk of the job for the third time tomorrow (Wednesday), furious over the State Government’s unwillingness to end the festering pay dispute.
The day-long strike will mean additional surgery cancellations and patient disruption at more than 80 health services, including at all of Melbourne’s major hospitals.

The HWU’s Lead Organiser, Jake McGuinness, said thousands of flyers will be dropped at homes across the Footscray electorate, which Labor’s Kattie Hall holds by just 4.2%
“We will be saying to voters in Footscray that the Victorian Government is failing to back the healthcare workers that keep you safe and healthy.”
“This government has billions for shiny new hospitals, but is offering scraps to the essential workers who make them function.”
The escalation comes after workers overwhelmingly rejected a below-inflation pay offer from the Victorian Government.
“We are again urging Jacinta Allan to be the hero here. Step in, clean up this mess, and do what’s right by Victorian healthcare workers,” Mr McGuinness said.
